Candler Park Deck Cleaning, Staining, Sealing Project
We were hired to seal and protect a beautiful newer deck in the Candler Park neighborhood of Atlanta. The deck is Southern Yellow pine, with tubular galvanized railings which give it a nice, modern look. We went over options with the customer, and they decided to go with a TWP 201 (cedartone)
We first cleaned the deck very well making sure to remove all surface contaminants, mold, mildew, and grime, we then thoroughly neutralized the wood suracfaces and followed up with a stain and seal with the aforementioned stain. Pictures are below. The TWP adds a good amount of color which will work great at preventing premature greying from the sun’s UV rays, the oils in the stain will also work to prevent moisture absorption, and water damage. As you can see the TWP adds a great amount of color while accentuating the wood-grain. Granted, this is a freshly stained deck and the color will mellow out in a month’s time to a more natural appearance.
